Westpac crosses Great South Road
Westpac’s Manukau Branch at 627 Great South Road, is being relocated over the road to 652 Great South Road, a change which will make banking an easier and more pleasant experience for customers, says Branch Manager, Robert Tongotea.
“The old site was very difficult to get to, basically only accessible to those travelling north. The new site is much easier to access for both streams of traffic,” he says. Westpac now has two easily accessible Westpac branches, with the other one based in Manukau Mall, says Mr Tongotea.
The new premises comprise approx 340m2 of ground floor retail space and 710m2 of first floor office accommodation. “It’s a wonderful set up, like walking into your living room,” says Mr Tongotea, describing the lounge suites and large screen Sky TV available for customers’ comfort in the large open floor space.
Westpac will be using the new premises to bring together its Business and Personal banking teams. Approximately two thirds of the branch’s customers are small to medium sized businesses, and Business Area Manager Simon Parr says the new building is a reflection of Westpac’s desire to strengthen its business banking in Manukau.
“Manukau is definitely a go-ahead region for businesses and Westpac is keen to be there for our existing and new business customers,” says Mr Parr.
Westpac Manukau branch’s regular customers have been informed about the move, and any customer who makes a transaction at the branch between 18-31 May will automatically enter a draw to win a Telecom Blackberry.
Westpac will be holding an official opening function at the new premises on June 3, 2009.
